Genberal Education

Welcome to the University-wide General Education Program

The University-wide General Education Program helps every one of our graduates attain the fundamental skills and the broad base of knowledge and understanding that all college-educated adults must have, whatever their specific areas of concentration.

Designed for all of our undergraduates, General Education is structured around a series of basic college classes divided into “Foundations”’ “Tier One”’ and “Tier Two” courses.  All students are required to take two tradition and culture (TRAD) courses and two individuals and societies (INDV) courses. Most students will also take two Natural Science (NATS) courses.

Students!
It is important that you discuss your options with an advisor in your chosen College – or within University College for those who have not yet chosen a major – so that your choices can be as informed as possible and lead directly to the accomplishment of your educational goals.

We hope you take advantage of this chance to explore the many riches of knowledge we offer to help you ground your education in a foundation you can use for years to come!
