Jessica Hill

Prior to joining the University of Arizona community, I received my M.A. in Higher Education Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and a B.A from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in English, Communication Arts - Rhetoric Studies, and Women’s Studies. Over my career at the UA, I have enjoyed managing a residence hall, advising student organizations, teaching courses, facilitating workshops, and creating new leadership development experiences for undergraduate students. Additionally, I have presented at multiple conferences on student leadership, diversity & inclusion, experiential learning, and design thinking. In fall 2022, I completed my doctorate in Educational Leadership & Innovation at Arizona State University. My research interests focus on the use of games, play, and improv comedy practices to develop the critical leadership skills of group creativity. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and serving as a company member and instructor with the Tucson Improv Movement. I believe that many of the most important lessons I have learned about life and leadership were acquired while “yes and-ing” on the improv stage.
